High-Rise Residential Recycling
- In the City of Chicago, recycling is mandatory. Single-family homes and buildings of 4 or less units can recycle through the City of Chicago’s Blue Cart Program. All other buildings are required to have a recycling program through one of the city’s private haulers.
- Recycling has a positive impact: When you recycle, you divert materials away from the landfill and lower the need to extract raw, natural resources to make new products.
- The below guide outlines what is accepted in our program for residential buildings. Please note that we offer separate programs for Universal Waste (electronics, batteries, bulbs, and ink/toner cartridges), Compost, and Paper Shredding / Document Destruction.
